Safeguarding

Your child’s safety matters to us

Pill Festival Band warmly welcomes young musicians and we want every parent, carer and school to feel completely confident about their involvement with us.

Our commitment

A safe and supportive environment for all

Pill Festival Band is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all its members – and in particular its younger players. We take our responsibilities seriously and have measures in place to ensure that rehearsals and events are safe, welcoming and appropriate for all ages.

Our Safeguarding Lead

The band has a named Safeguarding Lead who holds:

  • ✅ A current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • ✅ A Stage 3 qualification for working with vulnerable people and young people

Our Safeguarding Lead is available to answer any questions parents, carers or schools may have.

Our policy

Formal safeguarding policy in place

Young people at rehearsals

Under 16s – what to expect

We love having young musicians as part of the band. To ensure their safety and comfort:

  • Any member under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or appropriate adult at rehearsals
  • Parents and carers are always welcome to stay for the full rehearsal
  • We are happy to answer any questions before your child attends for the first time

Schools and organisations

Working with us

If you are a school, youth group or community organisation considering working with Pill Festival Band, we are happy to share our safeguarding documentation and answer any questions you may have ahead of any engagement.
