By inspiring new generations of musicians and bringing people together through live performance, we hope to keep community music flourishing for years to come.
We support each other, celebrate every player’s progress and value friendship, community and the shared experience of making music together.
If you can hum it, there’s a good chance we’ve played it.
Pill Festival Band plays a wide and wonderfully varied repertoire – from classic film scores and musical theatre to pop, rock and jazz standards. Think Henry Mancini rubbing shoulders with the Beatles, Phantom of the Opera segueing into Rock Around the Clock, and West Side Story giving way to Coconut Calypso.
Recent programmes have included everything from King of the Road and I Get Around to Wallace and Gromit and Baggy Trousers – so whether you’re a fan of the classics or grew up on pop, you’ll hear something you recognise.
It’s fun, it’s varied, and it’s a genuine pleasure to play.
Our rehearsals and performances are led by Michael Joce, who joined Pill Festival Band in 2021.
Michael brings a friendly, encouraging and professional approach to the band, making rehearsals enjoyable while helping us develop our skills and grow in confidence as musicians. We’re very lucky to have him leading us.
Through our sponsorship programme, we support children and young people to access formal music education. If you’re under 18 and would like to get involved, or you know a young person who might enjoy making music with us, we’d love to hear from you.
