Pill Music Festival 2020

From Wednesday the 25th of March until Sunday the 29th of March 2002

Current Line up

Wednesday 25th March - Pill Festival Band  - At St. George’s Church Hall, E-I-G. This orchestral concert band was originally formed by Chris Roach in 2009 for the first festival, it's purpose was to encourage and promote the playing of music in the village, especially to provide a low cost opportunity for the school children in the village to take up and learn a musical instrument. The band has improved continuously over its lifetime and plays from a wide repertoire of popular band music. More…

Thursday 26th March - An evening of various and varied local Ukelele bands including from the village the entertaining 'Pauline's Pluckers',  from North Somerset 'The Rhynes' and all the way from Bath the award winning 'The Mother Pluckers' at Pill Community Centre. More…

Friday 27th March - Gordano Folk Club, a wide range of familiar and not so familiar folk music, provided by some of the best amateur folk performers in North Somerset. More…

Saturday 28th March - Various music workshops during the day, aimed at encouraging anyone to start or continue learning to play or sing. Also performances by singing groups in the afternoon and early evening featuring the talented Pill Community Choir and the village acappella group 'The Mudlarks' (previously 'The Singing Ladies'), and from 8pm at the memorial club The BeeGees tribute Act. Sunday 29th March - Churches together with the Pill Festival Band at the Memorial Club followed by 'Jazz in the afternoon' at Lodway Cricket Club with 'After Hours', ‘Mixed Salad’, and ‘Avellana’. More…

Most events will be free entry (except for The Beegees which is £6 and the workshops which will be run at cost), however a collection will be taken to raise money to encourage and support (through the Festival Band) the teaching and playing of music by youngsters in the village.  Look out for more details around the village, on Facebook and the Festival Band website (www.pfb.org.uk).
